As more information is released regarding the state of our environment, the demand for eco-friendly practices and products will continue to significantly increase. Recognizing the need for schools and businesses to adhere to green standards, PLS developed a new and unique industry resource.
Project Green AV emerged as an avenue through which AV users and industry colleagues can educate each other on some simple, cost-effective and, perhaps, not well-known options for projection display users. The focus includes:
- recycling electronics and mercury containing components
- re-using or re-manufacturing products when possible
- extending the life of current AV equipment
- conserving energy by using new energy efficient products
- using environmentally friendly replacement products
Project Green AV will act as a resource with regard to government sponsored eco-friendly incentive programs, environmentally friendly products, "green" tips, as well as articles and links about "green" AV. The Project Green AV website will also contain a forum where our AV community can log-in to discuss new Green AV ideas and practices.
Furthermore, individuals and institutions that make great contributions to eco-friendliness will be featured on our Project Green Spotlight page. Project Green AV invites AV users to submit articles, installs and forum ideas to keep Project Green on the cutting edge of this ever-expanding topic. Green AV is the future of our industry, and we all need a resource to turn to for the most pertinent and up-to date information. Send articles, installs, ideas and comments to gms@projectgreenav.com .
Project Green AV is still under construction, but if you would like to be notified when the site goes live, please visit www.projectgreenav.com and sign up for notification.
